Masjid Annoor and Annoor Islamic Centre are suspending Jumu’a prayers effective immediately and until further notice

With the health and wellness of our congregation as our primary concern, the board of the Southwest Muslim Community Centre has made the difficult decision to suspend Jumu’a prayers effective immediately and until further notice in both Masjid Annoor and Annoor Islamic Centre.

The decision to suspend Jumu’a prayers is based on our primary concern for the health and wellness of our congregation and to minimize the potential for community transmission of the Covid-19 virus.  We ask Allah Subhanahu wa Taala to keep our communities safe and well during this difficult time for all.  All Sunday and Saturday Schools at both facilities are also suspended and urge families not to bring their children to the Masajid at this time – again to minimize the potential for community transmission of this virus.

Although both Masajid remain open for the daily prayers, we urge those who wish to attend the regular prayers to limit the time at the Masjid in order to minimize any possibility of exposure to themselves and others.  We also ask all those not feeling well or in a high risk group to refrain from coming to the Masjid.  Lastly, we urge all our seniors, women and children to pray at home and not visit the Masajid until we pass through this difficult period Insha’Allah.

Above all, a reminder to all of us to continue seeking Allah’s protection from this and other calamities for ourselves, our families, our neighbors and the community at large.

Jazakum Allahu Khairan
